Excellent Value for Money SATA format SSD

The Crucial MX500 Solid State Drive is a reliable, fast and good quality drive. With over-provisioning sufficient to ensure a long life (the 5 year warranty bears testimony to the manufacturers confidence on this point) these drives provide a low cost option to greatly improve the performance of an older generation PC. My AMD Athlon 64 based system has gone from a full boot time of 3 - 4 minutes down to approximately 50 seconds - with no other changes being made than installing the drive. The free Acronis drive cloning software available to download from the manufacturers website makes installation a breeze for anyone with modest technical skill. Applications such as Word snap open with the same speed as would be the case on a modern gaming PC, and the whole performance of my computer has dramatically improved to the point that this sub $100 upgrade has saved this machine from being scrapped. I would recommend the Crucial MX drives to anybody looking for a fast and reliable upgrade path to an older machine fitted with a mechanical hard disk drive
